From Dominica we sailed to Pointe-a-Pitre, the main town in Guadeloupe where we left Amanda in the Bas du Fort marina for ten days to fly to Florida to join some Danish friends on the heavy metal cruise "70000 Tons of Metal".
Back in Guadeloupe we were joined by Félicie's mother, Josette and her husband Flemming who came to visit from Denmark. We spent a day in the Parc National de la Guadeloupe on Basse-Terre walking on a few of the many hiking trails. Here we are crossing a wooden suspension bridge over a small creek. In the area there a quite a few waterfalls. Here is Cascade aux Ecrevisses:
The waterfall makes a small natural swimming pool before the water joins the nearby river:
After leaving Pointe-a-Pitre we sailed to the nearby Iles des Saintes, where we anchored next to Le Pain de Sucre (in Danish: Sukkertoppen) for several days, snorkeling, eating, sleeping and enjoying the company of Josette and Flemming. While sailing back to mainland Guadeloupe where our guests were to disembark, we passed a lighthouse:
