After leaving Basaseachi we started our descent from the central Mexican plateau. Below are a couple of views from the trip down:
On the last night of the trip a great thunderstorm came in and dumped a lot of rain.
The result of that first heavy rainfall of the season was quite a lot of small and larger rock slides on the road:
Here the road is getting cleared of rocks right as we're driving by.
More rocks sprinkled along one lane of the road:
We were a bit worried that the road would be completely blocked at some point and that we would have to turn around and find a different route down. Fortunately that did not happen and we made it down the mountains without incidents even though we had to zig zag a bit between the lanes at times.
Mid afternoon we arrived in San Carlos. Here is a picture of the Bjarne in the marina:
This is our route across Mexico starting in Cancun and ending in Hermosillo, Sonora:
The small circle by the water in Sonora is San Carlos where the boat is stored on land.
4,694 km and hundreds of speed bumps and potholes later, we made it to Hermosillo and our flight to Denmark for the summer.
