Isla Coronados

From Isla Ventana we sailed a few miles further north and anchored in a narrow canal between two islands. The larger island had a little peak that we decided to climb. Here is Felicie halfway up the hill with Amanda just visible in the middle of the picture:

Further up, still with a view of Amanda and dotted islands in front of the Baja peninsula in the background:

The dark elongated spot close to the beach in the water is a giant school of fish that move around as one unit. The spot would swirl and move around in the channel. When we arrived at the anchorage the fish decided to rest under the boat and for a couple of hours, we had pelicans, gulls and other seabirds diving like crazy all around to boat to get at the fish.

Felicie taking a short break before we reach the top:

At the top there was a very flat plateau:

An algae-pink salt pond on the opposite side of the peak:

A few cacti were dotted around the dry landscape:

The obligatory picture of Felicie next to a cairn marking highest point:

This is not a coral, although it looks more like that than like the dried-up bush that is actually is:

On the way down:

Here is a picture of the hill as we sail away:

You can see the faint track on the ridge on the right side.
Another view from the boat:
